Award-Winning actress, author and producer, Sela Ward is best known for her roles on "Sisters" and "Once and Again".
Ward made her debut in the 1983 television series "Emerald Point N.A.S.", and later that year, landed a role opposite Burt Reynolds in "The Man Who Loved Women", which helped her star to gradually rise. She has since appeared in productions like "L.A. Law", "Nothing In Common", "Steele Justice", and "Night Court". Her big break finally arrived in 1991, when Ward was cast as one of 4 sisters in the NBC comedy/drama, "Sisters", which earned her an Emmy for Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series. Following her success, Ward appeared in "Almost Golden: The Jessica Savitch Story", for which she took home the Cable Ace Award for Best Actress in a Movie or Miniseries.
After her 6-year stint in Sisters, Ward continued her success on the small screen and began starring in "Once and Again", earning an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 2000 and a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Drama in 2001. Since then, she has appeared in shows and films such as "House", "CSI: NY", "Gone Girl", "Westworld" and "FBI".
In 2002, Ward opened Hope Village for Children in her hometown of Meridian, intended to meet a broader need for abused and neglected children by initiating and funding the creation of a permanent group home and emergency shelter.
Ward released her first book, "Homesick", which appeared on The New York Times bestseller list in 2002 detailing her attempt to balance the comforts of her small-town childhood and her big-city way of life.
