Global Health Expert and Epidemiologist; Senior Advisor to Brown University Pandemic Center

Seth Berkley is a health consultant and Senior Advisor to the Pandemic Center at the Brown University School of Public Health specializing in infectious disease epidemiology and global health.

The former CEO of global health organization Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, Dr. Berkley led a team to expand access to immunization and also co-founded and led COVAX, which provided more than 2 billion Covid-19 vaccine doses to 146 countries. Prior to Gavi, he spearheaded the development of vaccines for HIV as President and CEO of the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative.

He was formerly with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Rockefeller Foundation before founding the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative. In 2009 he was recognized as one of Time magazine’s “100 Most Influential People in the World.”

Dr. Berkley received his undergraduate and medical degrees from Brown University and trained in internal medicine at Harvard University.
