Two-Time Tony Award-Winning Songwriter & Performer; Known for Broadway Musicals "Suffs" and "As You Like It"

Shaina Taub, an accomplished American actress, singer, and musician, began her artistic journey at New York University Tisch School of the Arts, graduating in 2009. Her career took flight as she composed and starred in three adaptations of Shakespeare plays for The Public Theater's Public Works program, showcasing her musical expertise and acting prowess. Taub's Off-Broadway appearances include the revival of the revue show "Old Hats," "Natasha," "Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812," and "Hadestown," further broadening her range of theatrical experiences.

One of her most notable works is the original musical "Suffs," where she demonstrated her creative versatility by writing the book, music, and lyrics while also taking on the role of Alice Paul. The musical premiered Off-Broadway at The Public Theater and made its way to Broadway in April 2024. She also penned the lyrics to the musical adaptation of "The Devil Wears Prada," adding another significant achievement to her ever-growing portfolio.

Taub has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including Tony Awards in 2024 for Best Book and Best Score, the Lucille Lortel Award, the Jonathan Larson Award, the Fred Ebb Award, and a Kleban Prize. Her songs have been performed by renowned artists like Audra McDonald and Sutton Foster, further solidifying her status in the industry. Committed to activism, she also co-chairs the NYCLU’s Artist Ambassadors, for which she received the Michael Friedman Freedom Award.
