Actress, Producer, Author & TV Director; Breast Cancer Survivor

Shannen Doherty is an actress, producer, and television director, known for her roles as Maggie Malene in 1985's Girls Just Want to Have Fun, Heather Duke in 1988's Heathers, Brenda Walsh in "Beverly Hills, 90210," and as Prue Halliwell in "Charmed."

Doherty cracked into the entertainment world at just 11 years old, starring in "Little House on the Prairie" as Jenny Wilder. She then went on to appear in "Our House" with Deidre Hall and Wilford Brimley.

Doherty's real success came in 1990, at the age of 19, when she secured a part on Aaron Spelling's teen drama, "Beverly Hills, 90210" as the character Brenda Walsh, who was a teenage twin sister to Brandon Walsh, played by Jason Priestley. After four years, Doherty left the show in 1994.

In 1998, she was offered the part of Prue Halliwell on "Charmed," a show about three witches who protect the innocent. She starred alongside Alyssa Milano and Holly Marie Combs.

In addition to her television success, she has starred in various movies, including Almost Dead (1994), Mallrats (1995), Another Day (2001), Encounter with Danger (2009), All I Want for Christmas (2014), and No One Would Tell (2018). Doherty also produced and starred in her own reality show, "Breaking Up with Shannen Doherty," which appeared on the Oxygen channel for one season in 2006.

In 2010, Doherty appeared on the tenth season of "Dancing With the Stars" and published her book, "Badass: A Hard-Earned Guide to Living Life with Style and (the Right) Attitude."

Doherty is also a cancer survivor. Diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, Doherty underwent chemotherapy, radiation, and a single mastectomy before entering remission in 2017. In February of 2020, Doherty announced that the breast cancer had returned and was then in stage four. Doherty also has Crohn's disease.
