Shannon attended The University of Kansas where she was Captain of the Crimson Girls Dance Team and a Scholar Athlete.  After completing her undergraduate degree, Shannon entered the Graduate program at KU and served as the Assistant Fitness Director at the Student Recreation Center.  During her Graduate school program, Shannon earned a spot on the NFL Kansas City Chiefs Cheerleading Team where she cheered for five years and served as a Squad Captain.  While with the Chiefs, she made countless media appearances and was the squads calender cover model.  Upon completing her Graduate Degree in Sports Management and Health, she was offered the role as Fitness Director for the University Recreation Center, a position that she held for several years.

After her five year tenure with the Chiefs, Shannon turned her attention to pursuing a Fitness career and her quest to become a top Fitness Athlete.  Within three short years competing as an amateur in the NPC (National Physique Committee), Shannon earned her IFBB Pro status at the 2003 NPC National Fitness Championships by winning the National Championships in the Fitness Division.  Over the course of the next eight years, Shannon actively and successfully competed at the most elite level of the sport in the IFBB Professional League.

During her professional competitive career, Shannon was featured on a national Geico Insurance advertising campaign which included commercials and print advertising. She was also featured regularly in several international fitness magazines, was featured on several posters and advertisements and was a weekly Talk Radio show host.

In 2007, Shannon become actively involved in coaching women who had dreams of one day competing.  At that time, very few women served as coaches in this male coaching dominated sport. She named her competitive team "Team Bombshell", and over the course of the next several years she worked diligently to make the team and the athletes the best they could be.  By empowering women to become strong in both mind and body and to embrace and encourage each other with a team support system, set her apart from others coaching in the industry. Her unique "tough talk" yet motivating coaching style is revered by her athletes and her famous quotes can be found all over the internet.

Over the past three years, Team Bombshell has quickly become a major force in the fitness industry.  In the past thirty months, Team Bombshell has produced over 50 National and International Champions and has become recognized worldwide as the premiere coaching team for competitive Fitness, Figure and Bikini Athletes.  The current Ms. Fitness International and Ms. Bikini Olympia are Bombshell Athletes.  Shannon is the first female Coach to ever produce an Olympia Champion.

Bombshell Athletes have graced the covers of practically every major fitness publication and appear in almost every monthly news stand issue both in the United States and across the globe. With women ranging in age from 14-60, Shannon has instilled in her athletes that realizing your  dreams is ageless and that the mind and focused passion can make the body accomplish things not considered possible. Athletes from all over the world travel weekly to the Bombshell training facility in Daytona Beach, FL to learn the "Bombshell" secrets to success.

In January 2011, Shannon was asked to join the writing staff of the international magazine publication Fitness Rx Magazine where she writes  a monthly feature article as the "Fitness Coach".  In the past year, she has been a Keynote Motivational speaker at several events across the country including most recently, the NFL Cheerleaders Alumni Reunion in Las Vegas.  She is also currently pursing her PhD in Sports Psychology.
