Sharona Shnayder

Environmental Activist & Founder of Tuesdays for Trash

Sharona Shnayder is a Nigerian-Israeli environmental activist currently based in the Middle-East. She is the founder of the global environmental movement, Tuesdays for Trash, which started in May of 2020 and has already reached 6/7 continents with participants in 23 countries, 10 chapters operational and has collected over 15,000 pounds of trash in just a little over a year. She is also the Chairwoman of the Oregon nonprofit OurstreesPDX that supports the local community by feeding the homeless, cleaning up trash on the streets and organizing events with local businesses.

To Shnayder, basic survival necessities like clean water, breathable air quality as a house not on fire should be accessible for all people who inhabit this Earth. She is tired of endless empty promises made by world leaders with regard to climate justice and therefore aims to take matters into her own hands soon by ultimately running for Prime Minister of the State of Israel. Some of Shnayder’s work has been featured on CNN, The Times of Israel, BBC, In The Know, The Oregonian and many more noteworthy platforms. Her favorite aspect of the activism she’s done so far is getting to educate kids on the power they have to reshape their futures despite the climate crisis, as well as modeling for her favorite sustainable brands and organizing cleanups during multiple adventures around the world.
