Shaun Alexander was born in Florence, Kentucky and grew up in a single parent home with his mother Carol, who raised him and his brother Durran. Shaun was a high school football All-American and ESPN's #1 high school player of the year.

In 1999, he graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in Marketing from Culverhouse College of Commerce and Business Administration. On the field, he was on the All SEC 1st team in both 1998 and 1999. In 1999, he was voted the SEC Player of the Year along with being on the NCAA All American Team. Shaun is Alabama's all-time rushing leader and still holds many of the school records to this day.

In 2000, Shaun was drafted in the first round to the Seattle Seahawks. As a running back for the Seahawks, he was a three-time Pro Bowl selection and two time All Pro. He set an NFL touchdown record (28) in 2005 and became the first Seahawk to win the NFL MVP when he led his team to the Super Bowl that same year. He is a member of the NFL 2000 All Decade Team and is one of the top NFL scorers of all time.

Since retiring from football, Shaun has written two award-winning books, Touchdown Alexander and The Walk. A popular speaker, he travels around the country sharing the messages of Jesus, Fathering, Marriage, Community and Success. Shaun and his wife Valerie have 7 kids. They reside in the Virginia suburbs of Washington D.C.
