Sheng Wang

Taiwanese-American Stand-Up Comic

Sheng Wang is a Taiwanese American stand-up comedian who developed and honed his comedy in the thriving stand-up community of the San Francisco Bay Area. He performs jokes based on personal experiences and observations and addresses common nonsense with honesty and ill logic.

Throughout his career, Wang has made a name for himself both on stage and behind the scenes. He has toured with the Comedians of Comedy and American Eagle’s ‘Campus Comedy Challenge.’ He has also appeared on a number of prominent TV shows, including Comedy Central’s "Live at Gotham," "Comedy Central Presents," "John Oliver's New York Stand-Up Show," "Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell," and "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon." His half-hour Comedy Central special aired in 2011, and NBC awarded him with a holding deal that same year. Wang's set on the "John Oliver NY Stand Up Show" aired in August of 2012. Notably, he worked as a staff writer, story editor, and executive story editor on the ABC sitcom "Fresh Off the Boat" from 2015 to 2018.

In addition to his work on television, Wang has also made significant strides in his stand-up career. He competed in the 2015 season of Last Comic Standing and released a critically acclaimed album titled "Cornucopias Are Actually Horrible Containers" in the same year. In 2019, he appeared on the HBO Special "2 Dope Queens" and performed at Clusterfest. More recently, he released his first Netflix special, "Sweet & Juicy," in September 2022.
