Los Angeles-Based Rock/Electronica Band

Shiny Toy Guns is an American indie rock band that formed in 2002 in Los Angeles, California. The band was founded by bassist and keyboardist, Jeremy Dawson, and vocalist and guitarist, Chad Petree. Both had known each other for years growing up in Shawnee, Oklahoma and worked together on previous music projects such as Cloud2Ground and Slyder. After these projects, they continued making music together eventually enlisting vocalist Carah Faye Charnow to be their new female vocalist, as well as drummer Mikey Martin.

In January 2005, they released their first album “We Are Pilots.” The first single, "Le Disko," peaked at #26, the second single, "You Are the One", peaked at #25, and the third single, "Rainy Monday" reached #23 on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart. The album peaked at #90 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart and #1 on the Top Heatseekers chart. The album was also nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Electronic/Dance Album at the 50th Grammy Awards.

Their second album, “Season of Poison,” was released in November 2008. It peaked at #47 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart and #10 on the Alternative Albums chart. The album introduced the band's new female vocalist, Sisely Treasure who replaced Charnow. "Ricochet!" was released as the first single. It hit #17 on the Alternative Songs Chart, which is the highest the band has ever reached on the Alternative Songs chart. Shiny Toy Guns released their second “Season of Poison” single, "Ghost Town," in January 2009, which peaked at #26 on the Alternative Songs Chart.
