Shoshana Ungerleider, MD            

Physician, Host of TED Health & Academy Award-Nominated Film Producer & Activist

Shoshana Ungerleider, MD is a board-certified, practicing internal medicine physician, producer and host of the TED Health and Before We Go podcasts, founder of End Well, science advocate and a leading voice in healthcare. She is widely recognized as an expert at helping people confront their mortality and navigate life's challenging transitions.

She works as an internist at Crossover Health in San Francisco. Dr. Ungerleider received her medical degree from Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, OR and completed residency at California Pacific Medical Center where she serves on the Executive Board of the Foundation Board of Trustees. She is also a limited partner in Trucks Venture Capital Fund.

Dr. Ungerleider is the founder and President of the Board of End Well, a nonprofit focused on transforming the end of life into a human-centered experience. In recent years, she was involved with two Academy Award-nominated Netflix short documentaries about the end-of-life experience: "Extremis" and "End Game." Her most recent project is a biographical documentary film about the life of Robin Williams, "Robin's Wish."

Also a podcast host, Dr. Ungerleider also appears regularly on national cable news outlets such as CNN, MSNBC, CBS News and Fox News. With articles featured in Newsweek, TIME, Scientific American, Slate, The Hill, The San Francisco Chronicle, STAT, Vox, and Forbes, she provides education and insight for both medical and general audiences. As a speaker, Dr. Ungerleider has graced the stage at SXSW, Aspen Ideas Festival, HLTH, Google, The Milken Institute, Exponential Medicine, Center to Transform Advance Care, Columbia University, University of Washington, Sutter Health, Stanford University School of Medicine and many others.

Accolades for Dr. Ungerleider include being named to the following lists: San Francisco Business Times' 40 Under 40; Becker's Hospital Review Rising Stars: 90 Healthcare Leaders Under 40; and Huffington Post’s 99 Limit Breaking Female Founders. She was honored as the 2018 Woman of the Year by Women Healthcare Executives of Northern California and as a 2020 Changemaker by Hospice News.
