Shree Bose

Grand Prize Winner of the First Google Global Science Fair & Cancer Researcher

As a student with a passion for biology and medicine, Shree Bose was honored as both the winner of the 17-18 year old age category and the Grand Prize winner of the first ever Google Global Science Fair in 2011. Competing against 10,000 students from 91 countries who submitted their projects online, Bose competed in the final event in Mountainview, CA. After judging by a panel of science luminaries, Bose was selected as the overall winner, earning a $50,000 Google scholarship, a 10-day trip to the Galapagos Islands with a National Geographic Expedition, a trip to CERN, LEGO awards, and a subscription to Scientific American for her school.

After receiving an incredible platform to speak around the world, Bose has become a dedicated STEM education advocate. Realizing a need for better tools for technology education along the way, she cofounded Piper, a Minecraft toolbox for budding engineers.

Bose graduated cum laude from Harvard University with a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology with a secondary in Global Health and Health Policy. She is now a student in the MD/PhD program at Duke University School of Medicine.
