Shreya Joshi

Founder of ProjectTeal, Executive Director of Redefy

Shreya Joshi has developed a keen awareness of the harmful effects of political polarization from an early age. She strongly advocates for civil discourse, particularly dialogue between individuals with contrasting viewpoints, as a solution to bridge the partisan divide. This belief led her to establish Project TEAL, a teen-led, non-partisan initiative that aims to encourage young people to become engaged citizens. In addition to her work with Project TEAL, Joshi also holds the position of executive director at Redefy, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting equity and combating discrimination.

Her involvement extends beyond these roles, as she served as the national training director and national women's caucus chair at the High School Democrats of America. Also, Joshi actively participates in her local community as a student representative on Chicago's Human Rights and Fair Housing Commission. Currently, she is pursuing her studies at Stanford University, balancing her academic endeavors with her commitment to her civic duties.

Recognized as a future leader, Joshi has shared her insights as a speaker on a global platform at TED. Her TED talk, titled "What you can learn from people who disagree with you," was posted in October 2022 and showcases her belief in the power of open dialogue.
