Former MLB First Baseman, World Series Participant, Outdoorsman

Sid Bream, a renowned former first baseman, started his Major League Baseball career by signing with the Los Angeles Dodgers in June of 1981. He was traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1985, and in 1991, he became a free agent and signed a 3-year contract with the Atlanta Braves. He joined the Houston Astros in 1994 and retired from professional baseball in 1995.

During his tenure, Bream played in four consecutive National League playoffs, one with Pittsburgh and three with the Braves, and participated in two World Series. One of his most iconic moments was his dramatic slide into home plate during the seventh game of the 1992 National League Championship Series against the Pittsburgh Pirates, securing the Braves' victory.

Originally from Carlisle, PA, Bream was raised in Mt. Holly Springs, PA, and attended Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA, where he graduated with a major in Physical Education. He currently resides in Zelienople, PA, with his wife, Michele, and their family. Bream is an avid outdoorsman who frequently speaks about the beauty of nature and God’s creation. Today, he dedicates much of his time to delivering talks at churches, youth groups, and schools across America, sharing his experiences and values.
