Sieva Kozinsky is the CEO and co-founder of StudySoup. Sieva has a unique perspective on running an education company, having started StudySoup in response to frustrations that he and his peers experienced throughout high school and college. Sieva went to UC Santa Barbara, where he studied technology management and environmental science. Before his role at StudySoup, Sieva was head of business development at Reppify, followed by Sprigeo.

StudySoup is a peer-to-peer marketplace for college students. The demand: Quality course notes, study guides and tutoring services by class, professor or note-taker. The supply: Top providers can make about $500 per course. Some 2,000 notetakers, 150 schools and more than 500,000 students are part of the StudySoup network, and subscriptions cost between $11 and $30 a month. Kozinsky has $1.7 million in funding from investors such as 500 Startups and 1776 DC. The Ukrainian native says the spark for StudySoup was ignited while a sophomore at UC Santa Barbara.
