Soma Somasegar is a Managing Director at Madrona Venture Group, based in Seattle. At Madrona, he is focusing on Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence, Intelligent Applications and Developer centric platforms and tools. Madrona Venture Group has deep expertise in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Apple acquired two of Madrona’s AI portfolio companies: Turi and Lattice. Additionally, Kitt.ai was acquired by Baidu.

Prior to joining Madrona, Somasegar had a successful twenty-seven-year career at Microsoft Corporation. His last role at Microsoft was Corporate Vice President of the Developer Division, directing the development of tools used by tens of thousands of developers across the globe.

Somasegar has long been an angel investor and has invested in 50+ companies across a wide range of technology areas. As well, he serves on the boards of MightyAI, SmartAssist.io, Pixvana, Shyft, Icebrg and CloudCoreo.
