Sophie Santos

2022 Lambda Literary Award Winner, Comedian, Writer, Actor & Author of The Best-Selling Memoir "The One You Want to Marry (And Other Identities I've Had)"

Sophie Santos is a best-selling author, comedian, writer, and actor whom Shondaland calls "honest and hilariously awkward."

Her best-selling comedic memoir, "The One You Want to Marry and Other Identities" debuted at #1 to critical acclaim and won her the 2022 Lambda Literary Award. Entertainment Weekly said, “Sophie Santos isn’t your average comedian... she details the plot points of her own life — like constant moves due to her dad’s gig in the Army and her stint in pageantry — with hilarious aplomb.” Transparent's Joey Soloway calls her memoir, "brilliantly funny" and "remarkable." And the popular magazine, them., hailed her book as one of the best books of 2021.

Her wildly popular comedy show, "The Lesbian Agenda," has been selling out New York for the 4+ year span and has a residency at The Bell House in New York and Dynasty Typewriter in LA. It has appeared at the New York Comedy Festival and was selected for the San Francisco Sketch Festival in 2023.

Santos has appeared on "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen" and "Jimmy Kimmel." She can be heard on two award winning Audible Original comedies, "Hit Job" starring Pete Davidson and Keke Palmer and "Hot White Heist" starring Bowen Yang, directed by Alan Cumming.

She's written for shows on Bravo and MTV, and has performed at the Edinburgh Festival and The Kennedy Center. Her original pilot, "Hail Mary," about the first female color commentator of the NFL is being developed by Paul Scheer. She's been featured in Bustle, The Advocate (print & online), New York Magazine, and more.

As a comedian, she writes musical comedy where she sings about her mental health (through autotune) and being queer.

As someone who's struggled with mental health and OCD, she loves talking about overcoming those battles, as well as what it's like to fit in and knowing when it's best not to.
