Georgia gubernatorial candidate & House Minority Leader

Stacey Abrams is the former House Minority Leader for the Georgia General Assembly and State Representative for the 89th House District. Abrams became the first woman to lead either party in the Georgia General Assembly and the first African-American to lead in the House of Representatives. Filing her candidacy on May 2, 2017, Abrams is a candidate in the 2018 Georgia gubernatorial election,

She is the co-founder of NOW Corp., a financial services and revenue acceleration company and co-founder of The Family Room, Inc., a social app that connects kids with the adults in their lives.

Stacey previously co-founded Nourish, Inc., a beverage company for infants and toddlers and Insomnia, LLC, a development and advisory firm specializing in sourcing infrastructure projects and public-private partnerships.

Formerly, Stacey was Deputy City Attorney for Government Counsel, Development, and Infrastructure for the City of Atlanta. Prior to her tenure at the City, she was Special Counsel and a tax associate at the Sutherland Asbill & Brennan law firm in Atlanta, where her practice focused on tax-exempt organizations, with additional practice in health care matters. She also served as the founder and executive director of Third Sector Development Inc., a nonprofit management-consulting firm providing technical assistance to undercapitalized community organizations.

Stacey has published several novels under the pen name Selena Montgomery, and she is the author of a number of articles on taxation, public policy, and charitable organizations.
