Stella Damasus is a Nigerian born entertainer based in the United States of America. She was born in Benin city, Nigeria and is most notable for her work as an actress. Damasus has been in the entertainment industry for over two decades and is considered to be one of the most popular film actresses in Africa.
A devoted Christian, Stella is a woman with many talents; she is an Actress, Dancer, Singer, Radio & TV Host, Acting Coach, Advocate, Event Host, Mentor, Writer, Vlogger, Blogger, Educator, Presenter, Producer, Business woman and Humanitarian.
Stella co-founded Index Two Studios, a production company which was set up to redefine the standards of the motion picture industry in Nigeria. Index Two has conducted free training on film making in Cameroon, produced a short film on cancer, a feature length unreleased movie titled “Unspoken”, a Web Series titled “Mix Match”, several music videos and a soon to be released feature length film titled “Between”. Damasus is also the co-founder of MON AFRIK TV a FREE online television station which was created to deliver world-class, premium entertainment content from and about Africa to the world, as well as i2Radio, an online radio station in which she hosts two radio shows “UNDILUTED WITH STELLA DAMASUS” and “WHEN WOMEN PRAISE”.
In a bid to keep up with the times, Damasus launched a YouTube series titled “STELLA DAMASUS DIARIES” with the aim of expressing herself freely to her millions of fans and viewers.
Damasus became a Humanitarian because she hates to see people live in poverty or suffer and also feels the need to use the voice she has to speak up for people who can not.
In order to alleviate the suffering of the less privileged, and help create a better future for others, she founded the Stella Damasus Arts (SDA) Foundation, a non-profit organization established to provide economic, intellectual and emotional support to the society, using the Arts as its primary tool. The Foundation launched its Free Arts Training Program, and opened its doors to its first set of students on the 16th of May 2011.
Damasus also works with Globally Igniting Africa (GIA), a non-profit organization, as their Women’s Ambassador, Project Alert, a non-profit organization set up to fight against domestic violence; she is an ambassador for Women4africa, has worked with WFP (World Food Program) to help the people of Liberia, is a supporter of Lamboginny Say No to Crime and is an ambassador for NDLEA (Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency). She has also worked with an organization in Cameroon that supports Cancer patients and is a Director in Unite Jamaica People, an organization aimed about bringing positive change to the people of Jamaica
Damasus’s zeal to fight for the rights of women and young girls around the world led her to create a mentorship program called ADIVA which helps women and young girls unlock their potentials using God’s word and principles thus becoming the best they can ever be. With the ADIVA Mentoring Program, she has had 2 very successful meetings in Abuja (Nigeria) and 1 fun and intimate hangout in Atlanta, Georgia USA.
This same zeal for women and young girls also led Damasus to make a video regarding the issue of legalizing Child Marriage in Nigeria which in turn led to her invitation to Aljazeera Network THE STREAM for a Live discussion with Senator Yerima. She also released a video on the 11th of October 2013 in Honor of the International Day of the Girl Child which once again gained her an invitation to The World Bank to speak on Domestic Violence.
