Award-Winning Actor; Known for "Homecoming"

Stephan James is a Canadian actor who, after starring in a string of television series as a teenager, rose to prominence through his appearances in "Homecoming", "Selma", and "Race".

In 2018, James starred alongside Julia Roberts, Bobby Cannavale, and Shea Whigham in the lead role of "Homecoming", for which he was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor - Television Series Drama, and in 2019 announced his reprisal of the role.

Previously, James quickly gained recognition for his role in the Canadian film, "Home Again", for which he earned a Canadian Screen Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor, and was in the Ava Duvernay's Martin Luther King Jr. Film "Selma", which went on to be nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars. Continuing his success, James appeared in "Race", for which he won the Canadian Screen Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role, and later portrayed DOJ prosecutor Preston Terry in "Shots Fired". In 2018, James portrayed Alonzo "Fonny" Hunt in "If Beale Street Could Talk".

James got his start in television with a reoccurring role for two seasons on the long-running Canadian teen series "Degrassi", followed by various supporting roles on television, including in "How To Be Indie", "Clue", "My Babysitter's a Vampire", "The Listener", "12 Dates of Christmas", and "The LA Complex".
