Meteorologist, currently working for The Weather Channel, based in New York City. She currently co-hosts Wake Up With Al and is a Field Reporter.

Stephanie Abrams is an American meteorologist for The Weather Channel based in New York City. Her present endeavor is co hosting Wake up with Al. She is also a Field Reporter and has done the live coverage of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia and Canada. A charming personality with an alluring on screen presence, she is liked by her fans and onlookers alike.

Stephanie was born on October 27, 1978 at Miami, Florida and did her high school from the Forest Hill Community High School. She also did some cheerleading while at school. Her interest in meteorology arose from a very small age as she was very curious about scientific phenomena regarding natural calamities. Also, she states she got the see the destruction that Hurricane Andrew brought about in Florida first hand and was interested in studying the amount of destruction wind and rain could cause. Following this interest Abrams graduated from the University of Florida in Gainesville with a Bachelor of Science in geography with a minor in mathematics. She was also elected into the Phi Beta Kappa as well as the Delta Phi Epsilon sororities. Stephanie also did a degree of B.S in meteorology from the Florida State University (FSU) in Tallahassee and graduated cum laude. She practiced on air forecasts on FSU Live which is a student run news and weather production cable channel in Tallahassee. She also worked as a teaching assistant at FSU for some years.

Stephanie is a member of the American Meteorological Society as well as the National Weather Association and was the president of the AMS from 2002 to 2003. With a seal of approval from the AMS she started her career as a meteorologist for the WTXL channel, an affiliate of the ABC channel, situated in Tallahassee, Florida. Her work for The Weather Channel started shortly afterwards on July 2003. She has been a devoted worker in the channel since then.

From 2003 to 2005, Stephanie was a fill in anchor and a reporter for TWC. Her first break as a co-host was for the Weekend View on 2005. She became an on camera meteorologist as a co host of Abrams and Bettes: Beyond the Forecast on 2006 and then moved on into the Weather Center with Mike Bettes. She began co hosting her present show, Wake up with Al alongside NBC’s Al Roker on July 20, 2009. She show airs on weekday mornings from 6 am to 7 am ET. Stephanie also co-hosted Your Weather Today along with Mike Bettes from 7-10 am ET. She also fills in for Roker when he is on a leave from the network’s Rockefeller Center studios situated in the New York City.

Abrams covered the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver from February 8-28. She was also the interim weather anchor for Weekend Today on 2012 after Bill Karins and Janice Huff left and were replaced by Dylan Dreye. From 2013-2013 she also co hosted programs like On the Radar and also the Morning Rush from 2009-2014. She has recently been appointed as the correspondent for America’s Morning Headquarters.

She finds forecasting weather and learning the scientific details behind every natural phenomenon very interesting and driving. She has established herself as a renowned name on screen as a very talented and accurate meteorologist and will certainly continue to do so for several more years to come.
