Stephanie Kaplan Lewis met Winsor Weston and Annie Wang while they were undergraduates at Harvard through running Harvard College’s lifestyle and fashion magazine. Through their work on this student publication, they saw the potential for something even bigger and better, and spent spring 2009 developing the business plan for Her Campus. After countless nights working in Harvard’s Quincy House dining hall until 3AM (or later!), they went on to enter and win the i3 Innovation Challenge, Harvard College’s business plan competition, in March 2009. Stephanie, Windsor, and Annie spent summer 2009 living together in a super tiny apartment in New York City, doing internships while preparing Her Campus for its launch in September 2009.
Stephanie has grown Her Campus to over 5.9 million monthly users with chapters at 260+ colleges worldwide. Stephanie also spearheads Her Campus's additional user-facing initiatives, including the Her Campus Blogger Network and High School Ambassador Program, Her Campus's book, The Her Campus Guide to College Life, and she led Her Campus's 2013 acquisition of HerUni Media Limited. She has been named to Inc.’s 30 Under 30, Businessweek’s 25 Under 25, The Boston Globe's 25 Under 25, Glamour’s 20 Amazing Young Women and The Boston Globe’s 25 Most Stylish Bostonians. She has served as a National Women’s Health Week Ambassador and a MassChallenge Alumna-in-Residence, and she is a regular guest on Fox 25 News and NECN for college-related segments. Stephanie is a 2010 graduate of Harvard University, where she was a member of Delta Gamma.
Some of her favorite things include doing barre classes, running, watching Grey’s Anatomy, trying new nail polish colors, bargain shopping, watching cute animal videos, getting froyo (coffee with Reese's) with her best friend Jackie and vacationing in Maine with her husband, Jason.
Stephanie, along with Windsor and Annie, has been named to:
BusinessWeek's 25 Under 25 Best Young Entrepreneurs
