Steve Berry is the New York Times and #1 internationally bestselling author of The King’s Deception, The Jefferson Key, and ten other bestselling novels. His next novel, The Lincoln Myth, will be published in May 2014. Berry’s edge-of-your-seat thrillers seamlessly merge history, conspiracy, and present day contentious issues, creating an emotional stake in the worlds he depicts. His books have been translated into 40 languages with more than 15 million printed copies in 51 countries. They consistently appear in the top echelon of The New York Times, USA Today, and indie bestseller lists.

In 2012 Berry’s work was recognized by the American Library Association, which named him the first spokesman for National Preservation Week. He was also appointed by the Smithsonian Board of Regents to serve on the Smithsonian Libraries Advisory Board to help promote and support the Libraries in their mission to provide information in all forms to scientists, curators, scholars, students, and the public at large.

Steve Berry has received the Royden B. Davis Distinguished Author Award and was named Georgia Author of the Year in 2005. In 2013, Berry received the International Thriller Writer’s Silver Bullet Award for philanthropy, the Barnes & Noble Writers for Writers Award for his contributions toward fellow writers, and was recognized by the Anne Frank Center with the Spirit of Anne Frank Human Writes Award for exemplifying Anne’s spirit in his work.

Berry was born and raised in Georgia, graduating from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University. He was a trial lawyer for 30 years and held elective office for 14 of those years. He is a founding member of International Thriller Writers—a group of over 2,500 thriller writers from around the world—and served three years as its co-president.
