Steve Easterbrook

Former President & CEO of McDonald's Corporation

Steve Easterbrook is the former president and CEO of McDonald's Corporation, a role he held from March 2015 to November 2019. Easterbrook was McDonald's first British CEO, although he was not the first non-American CEO.

During his time as CEO, Easterbrook emphasized technological innovation. He introduced digital ordering kiosks in its locations and struck up deals with UberEats and DoorDash, effectively transforming a company that was behind on using technology to boost business to a leader in that arena.

He was ultimately fired from the position due to a consensual relationship with an employee that violated company policy. A spokeswoman for Easterbrook, Desiree Moore, said he was “deeply grateful” for his time at McDonald’s and “acknowledges his error in judgment.”

Easterbrook previously served as the CEO of both Pizza Express and Wagamama, where he grew both brands. He also previously served as President, Deputy Managing Director, and CEO of McDonald's Europe.
