Steven Klinger, as Georgia-Pacific's executive vice president and president of the Packaging Division, is responsible for 55 packaging operations and four containerboard mills throughout the U.S., including manufacturing, sales, marketing, and logistics,

Georgia-Pacific's Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Group also reports to him. Mr. Klinger joined Georgia-Pacific in 1982 as an accountant in the Corporate Payroll Group. From 1983 to 1992, he held operating and finance positions in the Distribution Division, corporate controllers, internal audit, softwood lumber, and forest resources. Between 1992 and 1994, he was director of acquisitions and divestitures, leading key corporate development activities. He joined the Packaging Group as division controller in 1994 and was promoted to division controller, containerboard and packaging, the next year. He was named regional manager, Packaging, with responsibility for seven packaging plants in 1996 and later added responsibility for five additional packaging plants in the Southeast. He was promoted to vice president of packaging operations in 2002, and assumed his current role in the Packaging Division in 2001. He is a chairman of the Fibre Box Association's executive committee and a member of the International Corrugated Packaging Foundation's CorrAlliance.
