He has been listed among the 50 top coaches in America. Focus on integrity and inner resources is central to this work, which aims to expand leaders’ effectiveness well beyond the boundaries of what they already know. Having begun his career as a member of Fortune magazine's Board of Editors, Strat has spent his adult life in learning relationships with leading business thinkers, from prominent academics to such CEOs as Jack Welch, Bill Gates, Andy Grove, Larry Bossidy, and Warren Buffett. He is also a serial entrepreneur who has run two small businesses.

Strat has taught leadership and large-scale organizational change on six continents and moderated over 60 C-level business conferences. His TV and radio appearances include "The News Hour," "Charlie Rose," and "Marketplace." He is a member of the board of the Leader to Leader Institute, formerly the Peter Drucker Foundation.
