Stuart Weitzman is an American designer, entrepreneur, and founder of the eponymous international, high-end shoe company, Stuart Weitzman.

The Weitzman label is recognized for its gallant, eccentric, and high-end designs. His shoe-wear is famous among celebrities and socialites from Hollywood.

Weitzman learned the family business from his father Seymour Weitzman, who was the designer of his own footwear company. Weitzman became an apprentice and began designing foot-wear for his father's label at twenty years old.

After graduating from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and the untimely death of his father, Weitzman took over the family business.

Weitzman sold the company to Caressa Inc and moved production to Spain. He continued to design shoes for the company, and remained President, eventually renaming it Stuart Weitzman Inc.

In 2005, Stuart Weitzman Inc. partnered with Irving Place Capital to become Stuart Weitzman Holdings, LLC. This partnership poised the company for major international retail expansion. In 2010, Stuart Weitzman Holdings LLC sold a majority stake in the company to The Jones Group Inc.

For over 35 years, the company has manufactured Stuart Weitzman footwear and handbags in factories in Elda, Spain, and the surrounding regions. Weitzman has been recognized for the impact of his efforts on the prestige of the Spanish footwear and handbag industry.
