Sue Chef

Chef focusing on Farm to Table cooking, Television Host, Culinary Instructor

"Sue Chef" as a business started in 2001 when Sue began catering and personal cheffing out of her home. It was truly a labor of love. Self taught, Sue never attended culinary school and attributes her knowledge of food to the school of hard knocks.

Working her way up to become a recognized name in the culinary world of Grand Rapids Michigan, Sue soon earned a position as culinary coordinator with a local cooking school. She worked side by side with some of the best chefs in the area and it is here that Sue says she received her best education ever."I hired local chefs to teach classes and through them I learned the tricks of the trade and methods that only seasoned professional chefs can pass on."

The cooking school closed after the company was sold and that is when Sue Chef Cooking School began. "I felt there was a real demand in the market place for culinary classes so I contracted with several businesses in town to host cooking classes at their locations." Her classes were held in several well known restaurants as well as at the beautiful showroom of Williams Kitchen and Bath.

In addition to her accomplishments in the culinary classroom, Sue has also produced and hosted her own television show which aired in all 7 PBS markets in Michigan, she has written a cookbook and continues to advise food retailers on product selection, marketing and food merchandising.

Sue is a talented public speaker. Her topics are often based in food and cooking however she also covers topics such as "How to Start and Grow Your Own Business", "Making a Career Out of Your Passion", and "Woman Run Small Businesses".
