Degree in Electronics Engineering, Univ. of Rosario, Argentina. Formerly: 25-year career with IBM and Telecom Argentina, latterly as Exec. Director. Former: Operations Director and Exec. Vice-Director, World Food Programme, coordinating humanitarian and emergency operations in more than eighty countries leading a team of over 10,000 people; Secretary-General, Dept of Support to Field Operations, leading services, administrative, financial, IT and HR for peacekeeping missions and special political missions for the United Nations in the most remote areas of the world and austere logistical support; responsible for the deployment and maintenance of contingent military, police and civilian personnel of more than 120,000 people, managing an annual budget of $7,500 million. Since April 2012, Chief of Staff (rank of Deputy Secretary-General) to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, responsible both for advising the Secretary-General on a wide range of global and organizational matters and representing the Secretary-General in New York and other parts of the world in accordance with needs.
