Susanna Barkataki (she/her) is an Indian yoga practitioner known for her work in decolonizing, addressing cultural appropriation, and embracing the roots of yoga. She delivers talks and accessible yoga and meditation practices that take yoga beyond stress reduction into collective liberation with warmth and depth that leave audiences feeling calm, inspired, and empowered.

Author of the #1 New Release and International Bestseller in Yoga in Nov 2020, "Embrace Yoga’s Roots: Courageous Ways to Deepen Your Yoga Practice and the forthcoming Ignite Your Yoga," Barkataki is shifting the paradigm of what yoga looks like in the West and making it more accessible and authentic with an invitation to diversity and culture. She has delivered keynotes, workshops, and talks to audiences from the White House to nonprofits in higher education and companies from Lululemon to Peloton.

With an Honors degree in Philosophy from UC Berkeley and a Master’s in Education from Cambridge College, a Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT), ordained by Thich Nhat Hanh and trained in the Shankaracharya tradition, Barkataki changes the world with authentic yoga. Her gift is storytelling from the roots of yoga and making complex philosophical topics down to earth, practical, and implementable for audiences of all experiences.
