Susie Wolff
British Former Professional Racing Driver & Team Principal of Venturi Racing in Formula E; Two-Time Winner of British Young Driver of the Year Award
Susie Wolff, the Managing Director of the F1 Academy, has been a formidable presence in the world of motorsport for over two decades. Her career began on the karting tracks, and she quickly moved up through the ranks, competing in Formula Renault and DTM for Mercedes-Benz. In 2014, Susie made history at the British Grand Prix by becoming the first woman in 22 years to participate in a Formula 1 race weekend, marking a significant milestone for female drivers in a male-dominated sport.
After retiring from competitive driving in 2015, Susie remained committed to fostering change within motorsport. She launched "Dare To Be Different" in 2016, an initiative designed to inspire and support the next generation of female talent by increasing their participation across all levels of the sport. Her efforts to champion women in motorsport were recognized in 2017 when she was awarded an MBE for her services to the industry.
In 2018, Susie was appointed Team Principal and shareholder of ROKiT Venturi Racing in Formula E, and later, in 2021, she became the team's Chief Executive Officer. Under her leadership, Venturi Racing achieved its most successful season to date, earning a Vice-World Championship title. After this milestone, Susie announced her departure from the team and Formula E in August 2022.
On March 1, 2023, Susie Wolff was appointed as the Managing Director of the F1 Academy, an all-female driver category aimed at developing and preparing young female drivers for higher levels of competition. In this role, she continues to be a pioneer for women in motorsport, advocating for gender equality and fostering a more inclusive environment for future generations. Susie Wolff’s career is a testament to her passion, dedication, and influence in redefining the landscape of motorsport.
