T. Morgan Dixon

Women's Health Advocate, Co-Founder & CEO of GirlTrek

As Co-Founder and CEO of GirlTREK, T. Morgan Dixon leads the largest public health non-profit organization for Black women and girls in the U.S., encouraging them to use walking as a practical first step to inspire healthy living, families and communities. Under Morgan’s leadership as CEO, GirlTREK now supports more than a million active members, with an audacious new goal: to boost the life expectancy of 17 million Black women by a decade in the next 10 years.

Prior to GirlTREK, Morgan served on the frontlines of education reform, leading the start-up of five public schools in collaboration with the NYC Department of Education with support from The Gates Foundation. Morgan began her career with Teach for America and worked at the United Nations in the Office of Children and Armed Conflict where she reported on schools and reintegration programs in conflict regions.

Morgan has served as a trustee for boards of The National Outdoor Leadership School, Teach for Haiti and The Underground Railroad Historic Byway, a $50 million tourism and preservation project in Maryland.

Morgan earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Southern California and a Master of Education in Public Policy, Leadership and Admiration at Seton Hall. She is a certified outdoor trip leader.
