Talia Woodin

Activist & Photographer

Talia Woodin is an activist, photographer and aspiring filmmaker. She has worked with a diverse range of groups and movements across the climate, environmental and social justice spheres, in both organizational and creative roles, on a local, national and international level.

She was born and raised in Oxford into a practicing Jewish family, both her parents were actively involved in National Green Party Politics and environmental activism, which informed her early engagement in the issues. During her childhood she trained to pursue a professional dance career in Ballet and Contemporary but eventually decided to pursue her passion for photography instead. After studying one year of a Visual Anthropology degree at Goldsmiths, University of London, Woodin decided to drop out of her degree, in part due to ongoing mental health issues that have motivated a lot of her campaigning, and to work full time as a photographer and media coordinator for Extinction Rebellion UK. In the two years since she has worked in organizational and creative roles for many campaigns and groups including Fridays For Future, HS2rebellion, Reclaim the Power, Kill the Bill and Pass the Mic Climate. She has also worked with and been featured by platforms such as The Guardian, Patagonia, Atmos Magazine, BBC, Ecosia and more.

Her activism has also extended to direct action and frontline environmental defense as part of the campaign against HS2, in which she spent a year living and working within the grassroots campaign, physically resisting deforestation in the UK.
