Tamara Braun  

Tamara Braun (born April 18, 1971) is an American actress. Before becoming an actress, Tamara Braun trained as a massage therapist.

She does not eat dairy, and is a natural brunette. Braun was a psyche major in school and took a summer course in Shakespeare at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in England before backpacking throughout Europe with her then boyfriend. Tamara spends her spare time enjoying writing, films and enjoying life. Her main charity is the Therapuetic Living Centers for the Blind a not for profit agency providing programs and services for individuals who have multiple disabilities, including blindness.

Braun is best known for her Emmy Nominated Portrayel of sassy Caroline "Carly" Benson Quartermaine Corinthos on the ABC soap opera General Hospital, a role she played from 2001 to 2005. As Carly, Braun was featured very prominently as the romantic partner of lead character Sonny Corinthos, portrayed by Daytime Emmy winner Maurice Benard.

Braun's predecessor in the role, Emmy winner Sarah Brown, was incredibly popular; however, after initial resistance, fans began to accept Braun in the role (in part due to her physical resemblance to Brown) and she became a popular star of GH. After she left General Hospital, she was replaced by Jennifer Bransford.In Later 2005, Bransford was replaced by Laura Wright.

Braun was recently cast as the female lead in the Independant movie Little Bayou, which will be filming in Louisiana. She is working with a dialect coach to perfect a Cajun accent, and she has altered her appearance by getting a bronzed tan and darkening her hair.
