Tamia Hill, known mononymously as Tamia, is a Canadian singer and songwriter renowned for her powerful vocals and emotive R&B ballads. A six-time Grammy nominated singer-songwriter, she rose to prominence in the mid-1990s after being discovered by legendary music producer Quincy Jones. Her 1995 debut single, "You Put a Move on My Heart," showcased her vocal talents and led to a Grammy nomination, setting the stage for a successful music career.

Over the years, Tamia has released several critically acclaimed albums, including Tamia (1998), A Nu Day (2000), and Beautiful Surprise (2012). She is best known for hit songs like “Stranger in My House,” “Officially Missing You,” and “So Into You,” the latter of which gained renewed attention when it was sampled by rapper Fabolous.

In 2003, Tamia revealed that she had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS). Despite the diagnosis, Tamia has remained committed to her career, using her platform to raise awareness about MS and openly sharing her journey with the disease, and inspiring others facing similar challenges.

Tamia is also known for her long-lasting marriage to NBA legend Grant Hill, with whom she shares two daughters. The couple are admired for their commitment to family and philanthropy, frequently engaging in charitable work, particularly in the areas of education and health.
