Tamika Felder

Author, Women's Health Advocate, Cervical Cancer Survivor & Chief Visionary at Cervivor

Tamika Felder is a women’s health advocate, educator, mobilizer, author, and the Chief Visionary at Cervivor, a nonprofit dedicated to cervical cancer advocacy and support.

At the age of 25, Felder was diagnosed with cervical cancer and underwent surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. She lost her uterus, her cervix, and as a result, her fertility. Felder opted to use her experience and her loud, powerful and humorous voice to educate other women about ways to prevent cervical cancer. By telling her story, Felder inspired other women to start speaking about HPV and cervical cancer, which led to a network of survivors supporting each other and educating each other. From this network, Cervivor was born.

Felder’s path of patient-to-advocate / survivor-to-Cervivor inspires and mentors not only patients and medical communities, but anyone who has struggled with obstacles in their life. Named a “Cancer Rebel,” by Newsweek in a 2017 cover story, Felder recently released the book, Seriously, What Are You Waiting For? 13 Actions To Ignite Your Life & Achieve The Ultimate Comeback. She speaks at meetings and conferences around the globe, mobilizing audiences to address the challenges in their lives, “get unstuck” and live life with purpose.

Felder’s been honored with the Women in Government’s Presidential Leadership Award, the Washington Area Women’s Foundation “Be That Woman” Award, and the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults’ “Young Adult Fight” Award, among others. Her work advocating and educating Congress members and federal policy makers has been recognized on the floor of Capitol Hill and written up in the Congressional Record.

Felder currently serves on the board of the Global Coalition Against Cervical Cancer, on the steering committee of the National HPV Vaccination Roundtable, and the host/MC and keynote speaker of the Texas Oncology Foundation’s “Survive and Thrive” Symposium series across the state of Texas.

As part of her long involvement health advocacy, she has served on a Presidential Cancer Panel, on the board of the Ulman Cancer Foundation for Young Adults, as a survivor spokesperson for the LIVESTRONG Foundation, and as a patient advocate member of the National Cancer Institute’s Gynecologic Cancer Steering Committee – Cervical Task Force.

Felder’s story has been shared and covered by news outlets nationally and globally. Her advocacy work and motivational messages have been featured by Good Morning America, Dr. Oz, Newsweek, Self magazine and other national press.

As an award-winning television producer, Felder has also interviewed hundreds of people – including celebrities such as Joe Biden, Music Soul Child, Hillary Clinton, Dan Rather, Iman, Seth Rogen, Patti Labelle and Chaka Khan. Her current production work includes launching a lifestyle podcast and filming a documentary about cervical cancer, the women living with it, and the vaccine to prevent it.

Felder has recently been featured in a number of publications speaking on fertility as a cervical cancer survivor. She is vocal about her journey with IVF and will be welcoming a child to the world in November of 2022.
