In 2005, Taras Byk graduated from the department of international relations of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. He spent one academic year at the Queen Mary College, University of London, studying International Law, Law of the EU and Human Rights Law. Taras was a journalist and head of the world news department at the "Lvivska Gazeta" newspaper. From 2006 to 2009 he worked at the Secretariat of the President of Ukraine and afterwards was a trainee at the European Commission. Today Taras as a program reseach analyst at the International Republican Institute makes his contribution to the development of the civil society sector in Ukraine.
