Tarrus Riley is a Jamaican-American reggae singer and songwriter known for his smooth vocals, conscious lyrics, and contributions to modern roots reggae and dancehall. Born in the Bronx, New York, he was raised in Jamaica and immersed in music from an early age as the son of legendary reggae singer Jimmy Riley. He launched his career in the early 2000s, gaining recognition with his debut album, Challenges in 2004. However, it was his 2006 album, Parables, that catapulted him to international fame, featuring hits like "She's Royal" and "Stay With You."

Riley has since released several acclaimed albums, including Contagious (2009), Love Situation (2014), and Healing (2020), blending traditional reggae with elements of R&B, dancehall, and hip-hop. His music often carries messages of love, unity, and social consciousness, solidifying his reputation as one of reggae’s most respected contemporary voices.

Beyond his solo work, Riley has collaborated with a wide range of artists, from reggae icons like Shaggy and Chronixx to global stars like Major Lazer and Ella Mai. His live performances, backed by the renowned Blak Soil Band, are celebrated for their energy and authenticity.
