Tee Marie Hanible

Philanthropist, Entrepreneur & U.S. Marine

Tee Marie Hanible is a decorated Gunnery Sergeant of the Marines. After retiring from the Marines, Hanible became the only female military expert on the reality-based competition show, American Grit.

During her service in the Marine Corps, Hanible, a single mom, was deployed to Iraq as part of Operation Enduring/Iraqi Freedom. She went on to become a Marine Corps Recruiter to help find the most qualified recruits.

In April 2011, Hanible founded Operation Heroes Connect, an organization that places service members and veterans in mentorship roles with at-risk youth and provides community outreach services in the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia areas. In 2013, the organization started its "30 Days of Giving" campaign where it collects clothing and food for the homeless community in Northern Virginia. The annual campaign has received critical acclaim.

Hanible was awarded the 2014 "She Means Business" Award and the 2014 "Social Butterfly" Award at the 2014 Ms. Veteran America competition. She also received the 2015 Dunkin Donuts Community Hero Award.
