Terri Langhans

Author "The 7 Marketing Mistakes Every Business Makes and How to Fix Them"

She grew First Strategic Group large enough (18 employees, with offices on the left and right coasts) and profitable enough ($25 million in capitalized billings) to sell to a publicly held company in the late 80's. She "retired" from that company in 1999.

While there, her national creative honors included winning the coveted CLEO for advertising, the New York Film Festival award for television spots and the American Marketing Association's esteemed EFFIE award for the most effective, results-generating campaign in its category.

Terri's 20-plus years of experience includes everything from retail to non-profits to "government work." She worked at Big 5 Sporting Goods and Knott's Berry Farm in college. Her work in the "real world" included these stints:

  • Editor, News Enterprise, weekly newspaper

  • Public Information Officer and Sports Information Director, Santa Ana Community College

  • Director of Public Relations and Advertising, City of Long Beach (CA) Recreation  Department

  • Director of Marketing, Presbyterian Intercomunity Hospital

  • Vice President, Health Information Systems, McKesson

  • Part-time Instructor, California State University, Long Beach

That was then, and this is now. Now Terri is the COE (Chief of Everything) at Blah Blah Blah Etc., Inc., her speaking and training business. She earned professional member status in the National Speakers Association the first year she joined. Terri speaks at conferences and corporate meetings for audiences who want to be anything but blah. That takes the form of programs to help people

  • beat burnout, make a difference and still enjoy their walk on the work/life balance beam,

  • get to the point and be clear, confident and convincing communicators,

  • make their company, products, services and marketing stand out from the herd, get better results and attract more business and referrals.

Terri earned her B.A. in Journalism, with a minor in English, from California State University, Long Beach, graduating magna cum laude. She is the 2007-2008 Editor of Speaker! magazine, the official publication of the National Speakers Association, and is a contributing editor to Strategic Healthcare Marketing, a national trade journal.
