Terry Fontenot  

General Manager for the Atlanta Falcons

In 2021, Fontenot was hired as the general manager for the Atlanta Falcons, becoming the first black general manager in the franchise's history. His appointment was widely celebrated for breaking barriers and increasing diversity in NFL front offices.

Before joining the Falcons, Fontenot spent twenty years with the New Orleans Saints in their front office, working his way up to the Assistant General Manager and VP of Player Personnel.

Fontenot attended Tulane University, where he played as a safety for the Green Wave football team. He was a standout player during his college career and earned All- Conference USA honors in 2002. Following his college career, Fontenot went on to play in the National Football League (NFL). He signed as an undrafted free agent with the Atlanta Falcons in 2003 and played safety for the team until 2007.

Off the field, Fontenot is known for his philanthropic efforts. He has been involved in numerous community service initiatives and has a passion for giving back. Fontenot is married and has three children.
