Using his life-threatening and facially disfiguring cancer survival story as the platform that led him to a successful career in business, Terry Healey captivates and educates audiences on how to take control of their lives, identify and overcome challenges, build trust and teams, embrace change, and learn the value of tolerance and acceptance. He views the lessons he learned in life as gifts, and believes his greatest reward is being able to teach others how to overcome adversity and celebrate life.
Terry Healey is a cancer survivor who endured over thirty surgical procedures in an effort to reconstruct his face, which was disfigured by a fibrosarcoma. In his memoir titled "At Face Value: My Triumph Over a Disfiguring Cancer," Healey relays lessons in courage and hope. He is also the author of "Navigating Life's Road Blocks: Attitude, Focus, and Teamwork," which discusses lessons applicable to everyday life and professional relationships.
Healey has been published in Guideposts Magazine, The San Francisco Chronicle, Psychology Today, CURE Today, and Sales and Marketing Management. He is a contributing author of "Reading Lips," released in 2008, "Make Your Own Miracle: Surviving Cancer," released in November 2004, and "Open My Eyes, Open My Soul" released in December 2003. Healey has appeared on ABC’s “Sunday on Seven” with Cheryl Jennings, Total Living TV Network with Jerry Rose, KTVU/Fox 2 “Mornings on 2” with Ross McGowan, and has been interviewed on more than 75 radio stations across the U.S. and Canada.
Also a professional speaker, Healey regularly presents to corporate sales professionals, medical professionals, and students. He delivers presentations on overcoming adversity and personal growth, focusing on lessons learned from his own extreme experiences. His speaking topics include Cancer, Coaching/Mentoring, Inspiration, Leadership, Life Balance, Overcoming Adversity, Personal Growth, and Teambuilding. Healey emphasizes the importance of embracing diversity and demonstrates the frequent errors in judgment we make about others, encouraging audiences to confront challenges head-on and to embrace changes in the world.
