Thando Hopa is an advocate of diversity who has made her mark globally. Her diverse portfolio includes her background as a sexual offence prosecutor, international modeling career, and her work as an activist which resulted in her contribution to United Nations policy discussions around albinism in the SADC region for its consultation phase. She is one of the founding delegates that have created the Global Albinism Alliance which was recently constituted in France.

Throughout her tenure in the media, Hopa has promoted inclusion, diversity and representation and was listed as BBC's Top 100 Inspirational and Influential Women across the globe. She is the first person of colour in South Africa to feature in the Pirelli calendar curated by Vogue photographer Tim Walker and featured along side entertainment icons such as Whoopi Goldberg and Naomi Campbell. She was the cover star of Vogue Portugal magazine in 2019, making her the first woman with albinism to ever grace the cover of the internationally acclaimed publication. Her various contributions in the cultural sphere have resulted in her current appointment for The Narratives Lab at the World Economic Forum as part of the Cultural Leader Network.
