The Gaslight Anthem

American Rock Band

The Gaslight Anthem is an American rock band from New Brunswick, New Jersey, formed in 2006. The band consists of Brian Fallon (lead vocals, guitar), Alex Rosamilia (guitar, backing vocals), Alex Levine (bass guitar, backing vocals) and Benny Horowitz (drums, percussion).

The Gaslight Anthem released their debut album, “Sink or Swim,” on XOXO Records in May 2007. Despite its good reviews from independent critics, the album failed to impact the Billboard 200 Albums chart.

Their second album, "The '59 Sound," was issued on SideOneDummy Records in August 2008. The record was produced by Ted Hutt and featured Hot Water Music's Chris Wollard and the Mighty Mighty Bosstones' Dicky Barrett as guests.

The Gaslight Anthem entered the studio once again with producer Ted Hutt to record their second album for SideOneDummy Records,“American Slang,” which was released in June 2010. It opened at #16 on the Billboard 200, making it the band's highest charting album to date.

In October 2011, The Gaslight Anthem announced via Facebook that they had officially signed with Mercury Records. “Handwritten,” their fourth studio album, was issued by Mercury in July 2012.
