Thom Brennaman is currently one of the most well respected on-air talents in the country. He currently serves as a key member of the MLB, NFL and college football broadcast teams for FOX. He is an original announcer for NFL on FOX broadcasts and has partnered with Super Bowl-winning coach Brian Billick.
In his sixth season broadcasting Cincinnati Reds games, Brennaman will continue to work alongside his father, Hall of Famer Marty Brennaman, for selected radio broadcasts on 700 WLW and in the TV booth for FOX Sports Ohio broadcasts. They remain the only father/son team to call a perfect game, World Series contest and a 20-strikeout game.
Prior to joining the Reds, Brennaman worked for nine seasons on Arizona Diamondbacks radio and TV broadcasts. He joined the Diamondbacks after six seasons with the Chicago Cubs working for both WGN radio and TV. The Cubs hired him after two years in Cincinnati broadcasting Reds TV games alongside Hall of Fame catcher Johnny Bench.
Brennaman was the lead announcer for the worldwide telecasts of the college football BCS championship games (2007-2009). In addition, he broadcasted the University of Cincinnati’s Sugar Bowl game against Florida in January 2010 and the 2011 NFL Pro Bowl. Brennaman was the play-by-play voice for six Cotton Bowl telecasts from 2001-06 and has handled University of Cincinnati men’s basketball local broadcast duties. Additionally, he has announced college basketball for CBS Radio and Fox Sports Net cable.
The Ohio University graduate’s past work includes voice-over work for several video games, such as Microsoft Baseball 2001, All-Star Baseball 2002, and All-Star Baseball 2003-2005 for Gamecube, PlayStation 2 and Xbox. Brennaman currently serves as a spokesman for CBTS, a Cincinnati Bell company, in television commercials.
Brennaman and his wife, Polly, live in Cincinnati, OH and have two children.
