Fascinated by software development since his childhood in Germany, Thomas Dohmke has built a career building tools developers love and accelerating innovations that are transforming the processes and procedures of computer programming. As Chief Executive Officer of GitHub and the self-described “chief nerd of the world's computer nerds," he has overseen the launch of GitHub Copilot, the world's first at-scale AI developer tool, and its successor, GitHub Copilot X.

Before his time at GitHub, Dohmke worked at Microsoft. He previously co-founded HockeyApp, where he led the company as CEO through its acquisition by Microsoft in 2014.

Dohmke holds a PhD in mechanical engineering from University of Glasgow, UK.
