Thomas McAfee is a psychiatric nurse at Johns Hopkins. He transitioned out of tech and into healthcare, crediting his passion for mental health education and the need for mental health providers.

McAfee was previously Co-Founder and President of Distinc.tt, a venture-backed social network for the LGBT+ community which the Wall Street Journal called “The Gay App You Can Bring Home to Mom.” McAfee specialized in designing, building and scaling transformative products and companies. In recognition of his leadership in the tech community, Forbes named McAfee to their 30 Under 30 list in 2016.

McAfee has advised the White House on net neutrality, startups, and LGBT issues in tech and health. He serves on Engine's Advisory Board, Tulane University's Council of Entrepreneurs, StartOut’s programming committee and advises several early stage tech startups and investment funds.

McAfee is an alum of Stanford's StartX, MassChallenge, First Floor Labs at AOL, and the Harvard Innovation Lab.
