Fashion Designer Celebrating Black Culture & History

Tia Adeola is a trailblazing fashion designer and founder of her eponymous brand, Tia Adeola. Born in Nigeria, raised in London, and based in New York, Adeola draws on her multicultural background to create designs that celebrate individuality and culture. She graduated from The New School in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in Culture and Media, where her academic focus on art history and the Renaissance period became the foundation of her creative vision.

The roots of Adeola’s brand trace back to her dorm room in 2016, where she began crafting designs inspired by the grandeur of the Renaissance while reimagining its legacy through a lens of diversity and inclusivity. Adeola’s mission is to rewrite history through fashion, particularly by uplifting and centering people of color in narratives traditionally dominated by Western ideals.

Adeola’s work has garnered global acclaim, attracting high-profile admirers like Gigi Hadid and SZA, and securing a recurring presence at New York Fashion Week. In 2021, her artistic storytelling extended to film with the release of "Black Is Beautiful," her debut fashion film. The project, a celebration of Black beauty and culture, earned nominations in five categories at the International Fashion Film Awards, cementing Adeola’s reputation as a dynamic force in the fashion world. In addition, Adeola was named to Forbes' 30 Under 30 - Art & Style list in 2024.

Through her designs and creative projects, Adeola continues to push boundaries, blending history and modernity to craft a bold and empowering future for fashion.
