The 5 Languages of Appreciation in the Workplace is so timely and so very practical considering a disengaged workforce costs US businesses over $500 billion in losses annually. In the US, recent Studies reveal that 79% of employees leave jobs due to not feeling valued and only 35% of US workers felt appreciated in the past year. Conversely, managers reported doing a great job showing appreciation. Do you reward and recognize your staff? How’s that going for you? Statistics also show that only one third of all employees prefer gifts as their primary language of appreciation. That means you may be leaving two thirds of your workforce out. This is exactly where this simple yet profound program comes into play. It reaches further down into the roots of motivation into the core of your organization and engages your teams’ commitment to your mission in a way that goes beyond typical “go through the motions” costly reward and recognition programs. Appreciation is the “pay” everyone is looking for today but few know how to either give it or even ask for a raise in this area. L. Smith, Director Leadership Development, NLLC
