Dr. Mazzeo is the Clara C. Piper Associate Professor of English at Colby College, in Waterville, Maine, and the author of numerous works of narrative nonfiction. Her books have been New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle, and Los Angeles Times bestsellers.

Mazzeo is the author of Irena's Children: The Extraordinary Story of the Woman Who Saved 2,500 Children from the Warsaw Ghetto, Back Lane Wineries of Sonoma ,The New York Times best-selling book, The Widow Clicquot: The Story of a Champagne Empire and the Woman Who Ruled It, and Back Lane Wineries of Napa. The Widow Clicquot has been recognized by Gourmand as the Best Work of Wine Literature in the United States for 2008.

A member of the International Food, Wine, and Travel Writers Association, her work has appeared in Food and Wine magazine.

Mazzeo is the owner of Parsell Vineyard, her estate vineyard and farm in British Columbia, where she produces raw & natural wine.
