Tim Arthur is the Global CEO of Time Out in charge of a company that now reaches over 39 million people a month in 89 cities in 36 countries around the world. Appointed in September 2013 to run this iconic media brand, he was previously editor-in-chief of Time Out London from September 2011 and oversaw the revolutionary and hugely successful move of taking the London magazine free with circulation going from 46k to an estimated readership of over half a million people in the capital every Tuesday morning. This massive upswing in scale of reach was used to supercharge Time Out's digital ambitions, seeing Time Out London's website go from 1.5 million unique users a month to where it is now at over 7 million. His ambition is to transform the business into the world's largest digital inspiration platform enabling people to truly make the most of the cities they live in and visit.
Tim is Time Out through and through, having started his career at Time Out London as a music listings journalist. His singular, digital-first vision has transformed every aspect of the company, from the way it speaks to its audience, to the global ambitions of this trusted and much loved brand, to the way it generates revenues in a post-publishing digital era. Tim has experience of a wide variety of topics across the Time Out portfolio, including delivering engaging user generated content, deep social media engagement, and the creation of award-winning editorial content to drive consumer interaction, digitalizing traditional media, and business transformation. Tim is an accomplished public speaker and has spoken at most major media conventions; he is also a regular presenter on BBC Radio London hosting the Sunday morning breakfast show. He has a daughter, a dog and was voted Britain's second best male burlesque dancer in 2009.
